Europe

Travel! I love it! I have always wanted to travel overseas. It is in my blood. So I started to look around at where I wanted to go first. Trust me, my first trip overseas was not going to be my last!

How did I decide where I wanted to go? Well, I started a list of areas that I wanted to go. What was on my list?

London? Germany? Italy? Spain? Egypt? Europe in general? There were so many places that I wanted and still want to go.

I started to  check prices. I quickly found that trying to put a package together on my own was not working for me. That’s not to say that you can’t put together your own package; it’s just that, for me, it was better to get a professional involved. I decided on a trip across Europe.

I knew that I wanted my first trip to Europe to be with a guided tour and an all inclusive package. This would relieve a lot of stress off of me. I wouldn’t have to worry about where I was going and how to get there. I also would be able to get more information about the sites that we visit.

This led me research travel agencies. What did I look for in a travel agency? Several things…

I wanted to find a reputable agency. Believe me when I tell you; I researched many different agencies. You also want make sure they agency has knowledge about the area that you are wanting to visit.

Expertise is important. “Does your travel agent specialize in certain types of trips, such as Caribbean cruises, eco tours, destination weddings or unusual adventures? Are they enthusiastic about where you want to go and have suggestions to enhance your trip? Are they willing to do some research to help you make the most of your travel experience?” (1) Those are some great questions to ask.

They should also be informative. Let’s face it, if you are working with a travel agency that can’t give you the information you are looking for, then you need to cross them off of your list and move on to the next one.

As well as being informative, you want them to be transparent with their fees. “You want a travel agent you can trust to find the best travel options for you. Your travel agent should advise you of all the fees and charges involved in your holiday so there’s no surprises. This includes clearly outlining all of the costs, identifying any fees including a counseling fee for assisting you with your booking, taking you through all of the terms and conditions, and letting you know about any change or cancellation fees that may be applicable”. About the same time that I was planning my trip, I saw a news report on tv about EF Go Ahead Tours. I contacted them and they checked all of the boxes on my list.

Europe

With that said, I made my first trek to Europe a few years ago. Now, you know that I am a big exercise buff. I love to keep physically fit. My first thought when I scheduled my trip was – how do I get my workouts in? I realized there are many ways.

First of all, if you are like me, I make sure my trips are filled with lots of walking. Next, I look around for gyms. If there are none convenient to where I am, I know that my walking tours and excursions will provide me with the necessary cardio element that I need to counterbalance my “splurge” while I am on vacation.

And get this – vacations are healthy for you both physically and mentally. So really it is a win-win situation. I know that we tend to overeat on vacations, but I have been successful in keeping the weight off (even though I do indulge a bit) because of my cardio! I thought it would be nice to share some of my trip to London, Paris, and Rome!

As I set foot on the enchanting continent of Europe, a sense of anticipation and excitement coursed through my veins. The rich history, diverse cultures, and stunning landscapes create a tapestry of experiences waiting to be unraveled. This journey is not just a vacation; it’s a voyage of self-discovery, an opportunity to immerse myself in the old-world charm and modern marvels that Europe has to offer.

As I traveled across Europe, I found myself not only exploring new places but also connecting with the essence of humanity that spans continents. Conversations with locals revealed stories of resilience and dreams. Sharing meals with fellow travelers fostered a sense of camaraderie, a reminder that no matter where we come from, we share a common bond as seekers of adventure and wonder.
