Vegas Baby!

Las Vegas, known as the “Entertainment Capital of the World” and often referred to as “Sin City,” is a city unlike any other. Located in the heart of the Nevada desert, Vegas is famous for its vibrant nightlife, luxurious resorts, world-class entertainment, and, of course, its dazzling casinos. Whether you’re a high-roller looking to test your luck or a partygoer seeking non-stop fun, Vegas has something for everyone. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the essence of Vegas and explore its attractions, entertainment options, dining experiences, and more. So, grab your sunglasses, prepare for a wild ride, and join us on an unforgettable journey through Vegas!

The “Strip” is the most famous area and has enough entertainment to keep you occupied. Not only does it have a lot of exciting entertainment, but, for me, it allows me to get some of my exercise in. I know there are so many excuses to not exercise while you are “taking a break from life”, but for me that is not an option. Of course, I just had to take a picture under this famous sign. I think it is an unspoken tradition in Vegas.

Exercise is a part of my life. If you figure out ways to incorporate into your daily living, then you don’t have to go out of your way to get that workout in while away from your normal daily routines. That is how and why I decided to not let exercise and workouts keep me from enjoying travel and just getting away from it all.

We can come up with all kinds of excuses as to why we can’t exercise but do not let a vacation be one of those. I will show you on this post as well as some of my other trips I have taken how I manage to get exercise in. All while having fun!

So that leads me to this …

Weekend Getaway

I decided to do a quick weekend trip. I booked my flight and next thing you know, I am in VEGAS! The ambiance of the city is electrifying! It is everything you can imagine and more! The list of things to do there is endless.

Since I was staying on “The Strip”, a rental car was not necessary. Even though this is a mini-vacation, I did a lot of walking but it was well worth it! I saw so many things that I might have missed if I were driving a car or riding in a taxi/Uber/Lyft.

Even though I have been to Las Vegas a few other times, I always see so many different things – always exciting and new! I also got my cardio in! Now that’s a win-win!

Vegas is also synonymous with top-notch entertainment. From legendary headliners to extravagant stage productions, the city offers a myriad of options for those seeking unforgettable shows. Cirque du Soleil, with its mesmerizing acrobatics and artistic performances, has a strong presence in Vegas, with multiple shows on the Strip. For music lovers, residencies by iconic artists like Celine Dion, Elton John, and Britney Spears are a must-see. The city also hosts comedy shows, magic performances, and Broadway-style musicals, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

A Family Affair

There are some hidden gems in Las Vegas. If you happen to go to the Mirage, you definitely need to stop in and see one of the most spectacular attractions at there. Most people first see it when they are checking-in, but there are many others who make a special trip just to see. It’s a super huge 20,000-gallon saltwater tank behind the front desk and with an indoor coral reef that is home to more than 450 fish!

From what I was told, the tank has exotic fish from more than 85 different species that includes puffer fish, angelfish, tangs (think Dory from Finding Nemo) and other exotic sea creatures. These fish were specifically selected for their adaptability to the environment and compatibility with other species.

Another fun place to visit, especially if you go with your kids, is The Adventuredome. It is a 5-acre indoor amusement park that is located at Circus Circus on the Strip. If you like roller coasters, there are some for every excitement level. Do you like 4D theaters? They have those too.

Do you like botanical gardens? Well that’s here too! The Bellagio has the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden. According to their website, “Each season, the enormously talented horticulturalists and designers who make up the Bellagio Conservatory team transform this 14,000-square-foot floral playground into a showcase of the distinctive sights and colors of spring, summer, fall and winter—along with a special display for Chinese New Year. When the seasons turn and the displays rotate, 90 percent of the trees, flowers and plants in the conservatory are recycled, to further celebrate our commitment to the earth”.

Do you want to make that lady in your life happy? Take her to Hershey’s Chocolate World Las Vegas store – a two-story destination located within New York – New York Hotel & Casino. Can you say “Death by chocolate”?

Sometimes Vegas gets a bad rap. Most people associate it with casinos and other adult things. But it really is so much more. I am guessing that you had no idea all of these stops are in Vegas. I didn’t know this at first. But as you explore this city, you will find all it really has to offer. Guess what? This mini-vacation doesn’t have to break the bank either.

So are you ready? Let’s go…

Travel Along

Time to take you on my trek through Las Vegas

Beautiful city… isn’t it?

Some Sites and Sounds

The Fountains at Bellagio can only be fully appreciated when seen in person. The timing of the lights and water and music almost puts you in a trance. Every performance is different. This one thing that you can’t say “once you’ve seen it, you don’t need to go back”. And the best part… IT IS FREE!!!!

The lights… the buildings… the entertainment! All so amazing. While I was in Las Vegas, I got a chance to see Sir Elton John in concert. He is just as good – no – he is BETTER in person than on any music medium.

I will let you see for yourself!

As you can see, Vegas really has it all. This trip is what you make it. And there are so many other places to visit that are close by… The Grand Canyon, shows, the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N,Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument. And these are just a few of what you can do. When I go back, I plan to take in a few more of these places that I couldn’t fit into my quick weekend getaway. It will be well worth it. And this makes the Vegas area even more intriguing to visit.

Remember… Vegas doesn’t have to be an “adults only” getaway. It can be a fun family vacation as well.
